SPECIAL PROJECTS

Good Old Kai Tak by Rick Lo
Rick Lo bring his artwork “Good Old Kai Tak” to life, Rick Lo’s entrance piece will be made up of a series of vertical wall panels set at distances so fair visitors can explore and take photos within the artwork in 3D.

Murfin focusing on his artwork

Off the Wall by Murfin

Created by Spanish mural and graffiti artist Murfin, ‘Off the Wall’ is an immersive visual experience inspired by the synchronization between the natures of mural art and the sellability of visual art. ‘Off the Wall’ is a bridge between these two worlds where mural art is introduced to the latitudes and longitudes of the Affordable Art Fair exhibition space, opening the conversation of how mural art, conventionally restricted to the streets of today, can be converted into more intimate spaces. The act of purchasing will leave behind the whispers and silhouettes of where the canvas once was, carrying through the conversation that mural art, like traditional visual art, can be consumed as well.

Diversity? Divercity! by Doha Ham

Korean artist Doha Ham will be creating a large-scale installation “Diversity? Divercity!” at Affordable Art Fair.

Ham noted how the busy city has a complex structure, yet it maintains order. With his installation, Ham aims to depict the diversity of Hong Kong as artworks that personify emotions. By projecting the concept of emotions onto static furniture, offering a chance to appreciate art that embodies life in a familiar yet intimate material, and reminding them the beauty of simple, “ordinary” daily routines.

A Slice of Hong Kong by Eleanor McColl

With 10 years’ participation with Affordable Art Fair, Eleanor will be live-painting a life-size wooden letterbox with Hong Kong icons as the inspiration such as Vita Lemon Tea and White Rabbits. The installation celebrates local connection to the rest of the world by taking the iconic old Hong Kong mailbox, inviting audiences on a trip down memory lane, going back to a simpler and older time.

In the fair, visitors are invited to design their own letterbox or write their own postcards, the postcard could be posted in the giant letterbox where Eleanor will be painting live at the fair. Don’t miss out.
